Residential Design

Here’s a breakdown of the process:

1) Analysis and Review
The first step is to analyze and review information pertaining to your project. This includes your local regulations, budget, time line, and site information. This information, along with your vision will be the stepping off point for the design of your project.

2) Schematic Design
Schematic Designs will be developed and communicated through sketches. This phase of the project is also referred to as Conceptual Design. Here, we will collaborate closely with you, developing schemes for you to review. These conceptual design schemes will be revised and refined until the basis for a sustainable, and sensible design solution is reached.

3) Planning and Review
Next, we will review the design with the city or county planners. If there is a planning review process or public hearings, drawings and models will be created for these review entities. At this time preliminary cost estimates will also be made. Design revisions will then be made based on reactions from the planning review boards, public hearings, and cost estimates. During this planning and review process Go Big Ink will also work with the necessary engineers and consultants to reach your project goal.

4) Construction Drawings
Once all planning approvals have been granted, Construction Documents will be created for permitting and bidding. These Constructions Documents will describe in detail how your project will be built. Coordination and development with engineers and consultants will continue throughout this phase of the project. After all drawings are finalized they will be submitted to the appropriate agencies and building department for your construction permit. Next, based on the building department’s comments, we will make all necessary drawing revisions. Once the building permit is issued you will be able to move forward with the bidding and construction of your project.

5) Bidding and Negotiation
The approved Construction Documents will be used to obtain bids from potential contractors. During this process we will make clarifications and help answer questions that may arise. Once you have selected a contractor, it is time to begin construction.

6) Construction
Go Big Ink will facilitate the construction process acting as the coordinator between you, the owner, your contractor, engineers, and consultants. Throughout the construction process we will work to maintain quality and control costs. We will help facilitate the construction process, until you project is complete.

Go Big Ink provides high quality, professional illustration and artwork for architects, designers, developers, and anyone looking for that special rendering. As designers ourselves we know how important it is to be able communicate ideas visually to clients. You know that you have a great design. Now it’s time to show your clients.

How it works:

1) Provide Information
The first step is to provide us with information about your project. This information is most often provided by site plans, floor plans, elevations, relevant images, and any other supporting documents that help describe the architectural details would like to see in your final product. You can provide us with hard copy drawings or electronic files. With this information we will effectively be able to discuss the services and custom requirements of your project. This will allow us to give you accurate bid for your illustration.

2) Scene Composition and Layout
From the materials you provide we will create a layout sketch of the scene to be rendered. This sketch will show the shapes and siting of buildings, as well other elements such as trees and people. You will have the opportunity to review this sketch to make any desired adjustments. Once these revisions are made, and we have your approval of the scene we are ready to begin the rendering process.

3) Rendering
From your approved Scene Composition we will begin rendering. We will begin rendering elements in the distance, such as the sky, clouds, mountains, and trees, working our way forward to objects in the foreground. We will add layer upon layer of color and detail until the scene is brought to life, and you are completely satisfied with the rendering.

4) Presentation
The final step is to package your rendering for delivery. Now that your illustration is complete we will arrange for you to have originals delivered. We will also provide you with a high resolution digital file of the artwork. If no additional services are requested our service will end here.

*Additional Services
Go Big Ink can provide additions services to help finalize your presentation. We can provide graphic design services to prepare you for that design review submittal, presentation to investors, or simply create brochures, postcards, flyers, and posters. If you are interested in these services let us know, and we’ll be happy to work up an estimate. If you know ahead of time that you would like to use our graphic design services in addition to our illustrations services let us as soon as possible. The layout of your final product, whether a brochure or flyer can influence the illustration. Working as both your graphic designer and illustrator we will most efficiently be able to customize the graphics for your presentation needs.
